Private Aged Care Services
Flexible support, without the wait
Not every family wants to navigate government funding.
Some want services in place immediately.
Some need extra support beyond what their Support at Home package provides.
Others simply prefer the flexibility and simplicity of privately arranged care.
At Simplified Aged Care Solutions, we help you establish private services that are tailored to your needs — quickly, clearly, and without unnecessary complexity.
When private services may be the right option
Families choose private services for many reasons, including:
Adding extra support alongside a Support at Home package
Putting services in place while waiting for funding approval
Short-term support during illness, recovery, or when family members are unavailable
Preferring to arrange services independently of Commonwealth funding
Whatever the reason, we ensure services are safe, appropriate, and aligned to your loved one’s needs.
How we set things up
It begins with an initial assessment where we take the time to understand:
Your loved one’s health and daily support needs
Your preferences around providers and location
Cultural, lifestyle, or personal considerations
How involved you would like to be in the coordination
From there, you can choose your level of support.
We can provide recommendations and guidance for you to engage services directly — or we can manage the entire coordination process on your behalf through our Case Management Service.
You remain informed and in control. We remove the workload.

Long Term Case Management
For families wanting continued reassurance, we offer long-term case management. This service is ideal if:
You want a health professional reviewing care regularly
You live interstate or travel frequently
You want someone advocating with providers on an ongoing basis
You want to step back from the daily coordination
We liaise with Support at Home providers, coordinate additional private services, attend appointments where required, and ensure care evolves as needs change.
Many clients tell us this allows them to return to being a spouse, son, or daughter — rather than the full-time coordinator.
Private Social Support
Social connection plays a vital role in wellbeing — whether someone is living at home or in residential care.
Our privately funded social support service helps maintain independence, routine, and meaningful engagement in the community.
Support may include:
Spending time at home together — reading, puzzles, conversation
Preparing meals or baking together
Visiting a favourite café or restaurant
Light household tasks
Transport to appointments
Shopping outings
This service provides reassurance that your loved one is not only safe — but connected, engaged, and supported.
How private services differ
Private services offer greater flexibility and immediate access.
With privately arranged care:
Services can begin straight away — no waiting for approvals
You can choose the type, timing, and frequency of support
Additional services can be layered alongside government-funded care
Care can be adjusted quickly as needs change
For some families, private services are a short-term solution while waiting for funding.
For others, they provide ongoing flexibility and control.
Many choose a combination of both.
Another benefit of engaging private services alongside government-funded services is that there are multiple professionals involved in supporting your loved one. Having more than one organisation involved means there are additional “eyes” on your loved one’s wellbeing, and providers can communicate with each other to ensure care remains safe, coordinated, and responsive to changing needs.
Private Services vs Government-Funded Care
What’s the difference, and which is right for you?
This is one of the most common questions families ask.
Government-funded aged care services can be incredibly valuable — but they do come with specific requirements and limitations.
To access funded care, you must:
Receive ACAT approval
Complete a financial assessment through Services Australia
Wait for funding to be allocated
Work within set funding limits
Support at Home packages have capped budgets, which can restrict the type, frequency, or intensity of services available.
There may also be co-contributions depending on financial circumstances — in some cases, families contribute a significant portion of certain services such as cleaning or gardening. And in non-urgent situations, funding wait times can be lengthy.
Making the right decision
There is no single “right” pathway — only what best suits your loved one’s needs, timeline, and financial situation.
Understanding the differences allows you to make a confident, informed decision — rather than feeling pushed into one option.
If you’d like help weighing up the pros and cons for your specific situation, we’re here to guide you.
